Consumers Digest Recognizes Several Kohler Kitchen Faucets and Sinks with Its …

KOHLER, Wis., Mar 23, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) --Impressed by their superior design, advanced technology and practical utility, Consumers Digest magazine awarded six Kohler co. products with the coveted Best buy seals of product excellence when reviewing kitchen faucets and sinks. A total of 15 products received this award, with Kohler products outnumbering all other brands featured. The Best buy designation is widely recognized by consumers to mean road-tested quality and a product that offers outstanding value for its price.

The venerable 50-year-old Consumers Digest prides itself on thorough evaluation and testing of the products it reviews. The consumer advocate publication aims to provide practical advice, evaluations and specific recommendations to consumers, reserving its Best buy seal to those products the staff judges to be of the best quality and reliability for the most reasonable price. Its article on kitchen faucets and sinks appears in the April 2010 issue.

Among the six Best buy products listed by the magazine is the KOHLER Indio(TM) enameled cast iron kitchen sink line, which was recognized especially for the line's corresponding accessories, such as the stainless steel colander and fitted cutting board. "The smart integration of these accessories makes this line the most functional cast iron sink that we found," remarked the magazine's editors.

The KOHLER Langlade(R) self-rimming cast iron sinks were also listed as Best buys, with the Consumers Digest editors touting the versatility of its "generous 9-inch-deep bowl" and the extensive selection of colors offered, "the most available at this price."

The KOHLER Delafield(R) self-rimming cast iron sinks were also praised and noted for their durable construction. The tough cast iron design "means you won't sacrifice quality when compared with other economy sinks that are typically made of stainless steel," commented the editors.

Also included is the entire STERLING Southhaven(R) stainless steel kitchen sink line. The magazine praises this collection for its "versatile selection of configurations and sizes" and adds that this variety, along with the STERLING lifetime warranty, "lift it above other 20-gauge models that are in this price range."

There was no shortage of praise for another Best buy winner -- the KOHLER Simplice(R) collection of kitchen faucets. "It has one of the easiest-to-use high-arc pull-down spray heads for the price," said the editors, who were impressed that the "buttons for its spray functions are uniquely designed so wet hands won't slip off." also appreciated was the button to pause the water flow, "uncommon at this price range."

The sixth Kohler item to be honored with a Best buy designation was the KOHLER Torq(R) deck-mount kitchen faucet, with Consumers Digest editors extolling the benefits of its "extended lever handles" with "large grip areas," and concluding by saying that "The Torq's ease of use sets it apart from its competitors."
